MRV Communications Inc. posted record profits and revenues in its first quarter, which ended March 31. MRV's net income more than doubled to $4.3 million, up from $1.9 million in the same period a year earlier, while revenues rose 129% to $35.6 million, up from $15.5 million. The company attributed part of its strong results to continued sales to key customers Intel, Fujitsu and Digital Equipment.

MRV Communications Inc., a Chatsworth-based manufacturer of semiconductor and fiber optic products, said it has filed an application with the Securities and Exchange Commission to offer 1 million shares of common stock at $14.25 per share. About 750,000 shares will be sold by the company and 250,000 more by certain stockholders. MRV said the shares could be offered next month or in January by an underwriting group managed by Hampshire Securities Corp. The company said it would use the $9.

Chatsworth-based MRV Communications Inc., a fiber-optics components maker, filed a registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission for a $108-million initial public offering of its wholly owned unit Optical Access Inc. MRV didn't say how many shares will be offered or what it will sell them for, but said proceeds of the offering will be used for general corporate purposes.

MRV Communications Inc., a Chatsworth manufacturer of semiconductor laser diodes and fiber-optic products used to transmit large amounts of information at high speeds, is planning to go public in an offering of units expected to raise about $4.7 million. In a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, MRV said it plans to offer 425,000 units at between $10 and $12 apiece through underwriter Thomas James Associates Inc.

MRV Communications Inc., a Chatsworth-based maker of semiconductor diodes and fiber-optic data links, reported record third-quarter profit and sales. The company posted a profit of $402,000 in the quarter that ended Sept. 30, more than double earnings of $173,000 reported a year earlier. Sales in the latest quarter totaled $4.73 million, compared to $1.92 million a year earlier. For its nine-month period, the company reported net income of $1.04 million on sales of $11.
