Marina (28-4) vs. Harbor City Narbonne (26-4) 7:30 TONIGHT NARBONNE HIGH Narbonne is ranked sixth in the nation and No. 2 in the state, and is coming off a 61-47 victory over Long Beach Wilson in the first round of the Southern California playoffs. The Gauchos, the L.A. City Section champion, beat San Clemente at the Marina tournament in December, 42-39, in a game in which San Clemente missed its first 21 shots.

Angie Polk's three-point basket with 61 seconds left stopped a Marina rally as Cerritos eliminated the Vikings, 56-51, in a second-round Southern Section Division I-A girls' basketball playoff game Saturday night at Cerritos. Natalie Nakase scored on a three-pointer to move the Vikings within one, 52-51, before Polk's shot gave the Dons a comfortable lead. Marina (22-5) last took the lead midway in the second quarter, 22-21, but stayed within striking distance for most of the game.

In another Lady Centurion game: Sonora 69, Santa Ana 40--Aiyana Nash had 28 points for Sonora (4-1) in the third-place game. In the Carson City (Nev.) tournament: Marina 55, Carson City 53--Adria Sortino, the tournament MVP, scored 19 points to lead Marina (4-0) to the championship. Sonya Bryant added 12 points and was named to the all-tournament team along with Kirsten Cappel and Natalie Nakase.

Stockdale High School did what no other team in the playoffs has done so far, slow down Marina guard Natalie Nakase. But the Mustangs paid the price. Junior forward Chanda McLeod scored a career-high 27 points, junior guard Karyn Fierst had 14 and sophomore forward Nikki Lee scored 13 to help Marina take a 72-58 victory in the opening round of the Southern California Division I girls' basketball regionals Tuesday night.

San Clemente committed 11 first-quarter turnovers and never recovered as Marina upset the second-ranked Tritons, 77-68, in a nonleague girls' basketball game Saturday at Marina. The Vikings (13-3), ranked sixth in the county, took advantage of the turnovers and led by as much as 37-14 shortly before halftime. It was 37-18 at the half. Colleen Turnbull and Debby Caine tried to pull San Clemente (13-3) back into the game in the second half.
