Chemed Corp. said its wholly owned subsidiary National Sanitary Supply Co. has agreed to purchase the business and substantially all the operating assets of Easterday Supply Co., a subsidiary of American Building Maintenance Industries. Terms weren't disclosed. Chemed said Easterday, a San Francisco-based janitorial-supplies distributor, had sales of about $20 million in 1984. The proposed acquisition is subject to a definitive agreement and approval by directors of both companies.

Two dozen illegal aliens who crossed the Mexican border together and agreed to pay $200 each to be smuggled to Los Angeles were discovered Tuesday locked inside a truck abandoned by its driver after an accident in Norwalk, authorities said. None of the aliens, including a 6-month-old baby, was injured when the two-axle truck carrying them slammed into the rear of another truck and into a car at 1:21 p.m.

The sleazy image of condom vending machines with sexy pictures in men's restrooms is giving way to plain vendors in women's rooms as schools, bars and restaurants respond to the AIDS epidemic. At the University of California, Santa Cruz, 14 condom vendors are being installed next week beside racks of brochures from the school's AIDS task force.
