In a $500,000 lawsuit against the National Sports Grill and Bar, a couple alleges a bartender should not have let them get so drunk and should have confiscated their car keys. In the suit, filed Tuesday in Orange County Superior Court, Arthur Michael Cruz and his wife, Kelly, said they went to a Christmas party Dec. 12, 1994, at a bar owned by the chain and were issued tickets for drinks.

Scholarship Scores: Proceeds from a VIP party held Monday at the newest National Sports Grill went to the Kirk Collins Memorial Scholarship fund, named after the former Los Angeles Rams defensive back who died of cancer in 1984 while leading the league in interceptions. Several members of the current Rams team joined several former Rams team members at the opening of the sixth National Sports Grill location in Hutton Centre in Santa Ana.

More Sports Grills: National Sports Grill will open its third location May 24 in Torrance. A fourth restaurant will open in June in Orange. The chain previously opened restaurants in Fullerton and Buena Park.

Paul Goldenberg--the guy who modestly proclaims himself "The King of Big Screen"--sold so many humongous TV sets last week that he extended the hours of his La Habra store until midnight and scheduled deliveries before sunup. Orange Sporting Goods, on the other hand, expected such a poor showing this weekend that it isn't even opening its doors today. "People who like sports are going to be watching the Super Bowl, not shopping," store manager Francel Esquivel said.
