Tim Tebow is now a member of the New York Jets, a team that recently signed Mark Sanchez to a three-year contract extension. That means the Jets' roster now includes two quarterbacks who were starters in 2011. That could turn into quite a dilemma for Coach Rex Ryan. So let's try to help him out. First, let's take a look at what he's getting in Tebow. In 11 games as Denver's starter last season, Tebow went 7-4 to help salvage the season for a team that started 1-4. He had 18 touchdowns (12 passing, six rushing)

The Denver Broncos trade of Tim Tebow to the New York Jets for fourth- and sixth-round draft picks could be in jeopardy, according to a report by Adam Shefter of ESPN . Tebow has $5 million worth of recapture language in his contract, meaning that the Jets would have to pay money back to the Broncos. The report also says the Jets might not be willing to pay that stiff price, but are still working on completing the deal. If not, the deal could be nullified. The report also says the St.

The Denver Broncos have traded quarterback Tim Tebow to the New York Jets, according to multiple reports, a move that isn't stunning in that it comes a day after Denver signed Peyton Manning. The acquisition of Tebow also comes after the Jets extended the contract of quarterback Mark Sanchez. According to ESPNNewYork.com, the Jets will send a fourth-round draft pick to the Broncos for Tebow. In a news conference Tuesday to introduce new quarterback Manning, Broncos executive John Elway praised Tebow but added: “I think with the opportunity to have Peyton Manning's services, we had to take advantage of that.

When outlining his search for a coaching staff, new UCLA football boss Jim Mora said, "I want guys that are … great mentors for our young student-athletes. " On Monday, he hired the perpetrator in the most blatant cheating incident in recent NFL history. When describing members of his new staff, Mora has called them "coaches and teachers on and off the field. " On Monday, he hired the man who, two years ago, stood on an NFL sideline and purposely tripped an opposing player as he streaked down the field on a punt return.

From Florham Park, N.J. — For the past couple of years, we have heard a lot from the bombastic New York Jets about what they are and what they're capable of doing. On Thursday, the loudest voice in the locker room disclosed what the Jets are not. "I don't think we're a Super Bowl team," linebacker Bart Scott said. "Right now, we're not even a playoff team. " That might sound like blasphemy in Rex Ryan country, where the Lombardi Trophy isn't just mentioned but is promised — "I guarantee we'll win it this year," the coach said at the scouting combine in February — yet these Jets have had a bit of the edge knocked off them this season.

The Times' NFL writer, Sam Farmer, examines this week's matchups. Lines according to Glantz-Culver (O/U = over/under). Last week's record 10-6 (.625); season 124-68 (.646). Using the point spreads with the scores Farmer predicted, the record against the spread last week would have been 6-10 (.375); season 88-92-12 (.490). New Orleans at Tennessee — Chris Johnson has come alive over the past four games, averaging 5.7 yards per carry. But will that be enough to keep New Orleans' high-flying offense off the field?

Darrelle Revis, the No. 1 cornerback for the New York Jets, goes by the nickname Revis Island, and he can make any receiver feel like a forgotten castaway never heard from for four solid quarters. Dallas Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant is unfazed. In fact, if Revis is shadowing him tonight, Bryant plans to do a little island hopping. "I'm not going to change up my game for no corner," Bryant told reporters this week. "I'm not the type of guy to single anybody out — no DB, nothing like that.

The NHL locked out players for a full season because cash-strapped teams were melting down. The NBA has enacted a lockout because clubs are hemorrhaging red ink. The NFL shut its doors because owners and players couldn't agree on how to divide their riches. The battle of the football haves and have lots — one that elicited little public sympathy — effectively came to a close Monday when the player representatives for all 32 teams unanimously agreed to accept the league's proposal for a 10-year collective-bargaining agreement.

Mark Sanchez went through spring practice three times at USC. That was from 2006 to 2008, three years before the Trojans adopted their current routine of working out at 7:25 a.m., a schedule that probably also will be implemented this fall. So after watching USC practice Thursday, the New York Jets quarterback was asked whether he would have liked early-morning practices when he was in college. "I don't know," he said. "That's early. I like to get a little lunch, maybe a nap, and then get to practice.
