The top could fall off New Zealand's highest mountain, Mt. Cook, after an avalanche wiped out its east face over the weekend, conservation officials said today. With another big avalanche a possibility, "it's quite possible that the whole top could come off," said Ray Bellringer, a New Zealand Conservation Department officer.
