Police are investigating the death of a man who was found inside a car Saturday morning on Pacific Coast Highway in Pacific Palisades. "It might be a suicide, but it is still undetermined," said Los Angeles police spokeswoman Norma Eisenman. Officers found the man, who has not been identified and is believed to be in his 40s, about 4:30 a.m. near Sunset Boulevard, police said. Police searched Tuesday for a ski-masked gunman who fired multiple shots inside a Sherman Oaks home that morning, grazing a man in the leg. At least four shots were fired at the home in the 3400 block of Longridge Avenue at 5:49 a.m., said LAPD Officer Norma Eisenman. LAPD sources said they believed the shooting was drug-related. The victim was described as a man about 35 years old, Eisenman said. Officers briefly searched the neighborhood for the suspect but were unable to find him. -- Andrew Blankstein

Los Angeles police are investigating a possible burglary early Sunday at actress Lindsay Lohan's home in the Hollywood Hills, authorities said. Police were called to Lohan's home in the 2200 block of El Contento Drive about 7 a.m. about the possible burglary, said Officer Norma Eisenman of the Los Angeles Police Department. An officer at the LAPD's Hollywood station said Lohan's home was also the target of an attempted burglary in May. -- Ari B. Bloomekatz

A man was shot in the head and killed after getting into an argument at a party in the Westlake area early Sunday morning, authorities said. The victim was at a party near Catalina Street and James M. Wood Boulevard when he was shot about 4 a.m., said LAPD Officer Norma Eisenman. The victim was identified as Jose Enriquez Mendez, 28, of Los Angeles. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Three suspects were later detained for questioning, police said.

Three men were wounded as a gunman Sunday morning shot at cars stopped on a street a few blocks from a separate, fatal shooting hours before. Los Angeles Officer Norma Eisenman said the mid-morning shooting in the 12200 block of Osborne Place is believed to be gang-related. The victims had apparently become lost about two miles east of the 5 Freeway when they pulled over and came under fire, officials said. Earlier in the day, about 2 a.m., a man in his 20s, who was walking in the 12500 block of Correnti Street, was fatally shot.

A suspect was taken into custody after allegedly leaving a possible explosive substance at a fire station in Van Nuys, Los Angeles police said Tuesday night.  The suspect was seen leaving Station 39 in the 14000 block of Sylvan Street about 8:30 p.m., the Los Angeles Police Department said. Officer Norma Eisenman said it was not immediately clear whether the firehouse was evacuated.  A bomb squad was at the scene. No other details were immediately available.  ALSO: L.A. Los Angeles police have closed off the area around the Stanley Mosk Courthouse in downtown L.A. because of a suspicous package. About 6:30 a.m. police received a call reporting a suspicious bag at a bus stop near 1st and Hill streets next to the courthouse, said Officer Norma Eisenman. Police have blocked off streets leading to the area and the LAPD bomb squad was en route to investigate, she said. Police were redirecting traffic around the scene.  [Updated at 8:28 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 22: Authorities cleared the scene at 8:15 a.m. and declared the area safe.]

A 34-year-old male passenger of a car involved in a collision in downtown Los Angeles died early Saturday, authorities said. The victim was in a vehicle traveling south on Flower Street about 2:45 a.m. when it  was hit by another vehicle headed east on Pico Boulevard, said Los Angeles police Officer Norma Eisenman. The drivers of both vehicles passed alcohol screening tests, she said. The motorist who struck the other vehicle did not have a valid driver's license, Eisenman said.

Four people were run down Sunday morning on their way to church when a gray four-door Chrysler jumped the curb and struck them, and then drove off, said Los Angeles Police Officer Norma Eisenman. The incident took place about 7:30 a.m. on Crenshaw Boulevard near 71st Street. A 13-year-old boy suffered a fractured ankle, while a 24-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman suffered broken legs. A 49-year-old man escaped with minor cuts and lacerations.
