A seal at Florida Power Corp.'s nuclear power plant at Crystal River weakened, forcing a shutdown, the company said. The reactor was shut down when monitors showed the first of three seals on a reactor coolant pump was not maintaining proper pressure, which put added pressure on the two other seals, said company spokesman Mark Jacobs. The shutdown, expected to last at least two weeks while workers replace seals, was the third in a year at the plant 60 miles north of Tampa.
