Actor Christopher Lloyd has listed his Montecito house for sale at $6.45 million. He built the Umbria-inspired country home after the house he had on the site was destroyed in a 2008 wild fire. Recently completed, the single-level ocean-view house features a double-island kitchen, four bedrooms, 41/2 bathrooms and 4,600 square feet of living space. Former Von Dutch chief executive and clothier Tonny Sorensen has left his signature on his personal residence in Beverly Hills and listed it at $6.9 million. The gated midcentury modern was built in 1961 but completely redone by the Danish entrepreneur. He combined his love of minimalism and high-quality materials in the single-story, 6,000-square-foot home. A small bridge spans a koi pond at the entrance to the open-plan house. Cambodian water sculptures from the 16th and 17th centuries stand in the pond.

A New York hedge fund manager's plan to demolish an eye-catching steel-and-glass home in Malibu and build a two-story California Mission-style residence has neighbors in a lather over the potential loss of ocean views and what some decry as the waste of a perfectly good house. Once described as among the most significant new structures in Malibu, the building slated for destruction was designed by architect Bart Prince and hugs the slope in a neighborhood of private tennis courts, swimming pools and lush lawns.

Actor Pierce Brosnan has sold his Malibu beach retreat for $2.6 million. Brosnan and his wife, environmental activist and former broadcast journalist Keely Shaye Smith, put the property on the market at $3.9 million in 2010 while building another house nearby. The gated Mediterranean they sold has separate space for use as an office or media room and sits on more than a quarter of an acre with lawn space and a courtyard fountain. The flower boxes and hydrangea-lined pathways may have been a nod to Brosnan's Irish roots.

NBA player and former Laker Kwame Brown has sold his house in Playa del Rey for $1.65 million. The open-floor-plan house had been on and off the market since 2008 when it was listed for sale at $2.999 million or for lease at $12,000 a month. The current listing stated the home had sustained water damage on the main level and needed a new roof, windows, doors and elevator. Described as a short sale in the listing, the ocean-view contemporary includes four bedrooms and five bathrooms in 6,329 square feet.

Radio personality Jonathon Brandmeier has sold his Malibu estate for $4.1 million. The nearly 6,000-square-foot ocean-view home features patios, balconies, an office, a media room, a gym, six bedrooms and five bathrooms. The 1.6-acre site includes a swimming pool, a hot tub, a sports court, an art studio and a koi pond. Brandmeier, 55, has been heard on L.A. airwaves at KLSX-FM (97.1). However, he spent most of his broadcasting career as a staple on Chicago radio. He sold because he now lives in Chicago, where he is the WGN-AM morning host.
