The Southern Section has requested a meeting with Ocean View High School officials to investigate an altercation that followed the Seahawks' baseball game Tuesday at Santa Ana, Commissioner Stan Thomas said Friday. The section will hold a fact-finding hearing Wednesday concerning allegations that an Ocean View player threw a baseball at an umpire after Santa Ana's 6-5 victory. Thomas said he is concerned with the number of incidents at baseball games this season.

An altercation between umpires and youths after the Loara-Los Alamitos baseball game Tuesday has led to assault charges being filed against the umpires, a Los Alamitos police spokesman said Thursday. The umpires, Pierre Bertolino and Bob Radder, will file countercharges against two juveniles today, Bertolino said. He said he could not comment further. The incident occurred after Los Alamitos' 2-1 victory at Los Alamitos.
