Highlights of Today's Primary Election Hours: Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. Where to vote: 1,613 neighborhood polling places or the Orange County registrar of voters office, 1300 S. Grand Ave., Santa Ana. ON THE BALLOT Candidates to run in November general election; offices include president and congressional and legislative seats. Nonpartisan offices, including two county supervisor seats, several judgeships, and city and school board races. Three countywide ballot measures, including Measure S, which would repeal 1994's Measure A, an initiative that allows plans to develop a commercial airport at the El Toro Marine Corps Air Station.

Today's special election is to fill the 48th Congressional District seat vacated when Rep. Christopher Cox (R-Newport Beach) resigned to become head of the Securities and Exchange Commission. Tuesday is election day. Your polling place is printed on the back of the sample ballot that was mailed to you. You can also find it by visiting www.ocvote.comor www.oc.ca.gov/electionor by calling (714) 567-7600. All polling places will be open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Early voting is no longer available to Orange County voters, and the deadline for registering to vote has passed. The Orange County registrar of voters office is at 1300 S. Grand Ave., Building C, Santa Ana, CA 92705.
