Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr appear to have been in different places in the wake of their split last October - or maybe it's simply that the former was interviewed by a newspaper, while the latter sat down for a chat with a men's magazine and then posed in the nude for the accompanying photo spread. Bloom, 37, told the Mirror 's Sunday People edition that nearly six months post-split he's still not dating, choosing instead to spend time caring for son Flynn. (The couple share custody of the 3-year-old.)

Orlando Bloom has listed his compound in Hollywood Hills West for sale at $4.5 million or for annual lease at $16,500 a month. Set behind wood gates, the house was the target four years ago of the so-called "Bling Ring" burglars, who focused on celebrities including Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan. The four-bedroom, four-bathroom house, built in 1940, features a double walnut door entry, three fireplaces, a den/office, a library and 3,248 feet of living space. The wooded three-quarter acre lot has a swimming pool with spa and is equipped with security cameras.

Casting age-appropriate actors for Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet" was never practically possible. The roles of the tragic lovers have traditionally been played by actors older than the adolescent characters. A look back at some notable movie and stage versions shows that "older" is a term that can vary substantially. The latest movie version of "Romeo and Juliet" is to open in theaters Friday, with a cast that includes Hailee Steinfeld and Douglas Booth. The play has been newly adapted for the screen by "Downton Abbey" creator Julian Fellowes.

Romantic obsession meets Munchausen syndrome in "The Good Doctor. " As the title character, whose derangement builds slow and steady, like an IV drip, Orlando Bloom is low-key bordering on recessive, in sync with the cool psychological thriller and its undercurrent of black comedy. Targeting age-old English class consciousness, not contemporary American healthcare woes, the movie is a shrewd commentary on careerism and status. With his boyish haircut and anxious air, Bloom's Martin Blake, a Brit just beginning his medical residency in Southern California, has yet to develop the swagger of fellow resident Dan (Troy Garity)

For a brief and blinding moment in 2009, the Bling Ring crime spree ruled the social networks, TV news cycles and front pages of newspapers around the globe, including this one. At the time, I was bothered by the way the stories about a gang of affluent teen fashionistas stealing from trend-setting local celebrities underscored our out-of-control obsession with fame. Sofia Coppola's new movie about the real-life Hollywood caper does not bring any comfort. "The Bling Ring" is a warped tour of the teens' short but lucrative run when they lifted more than $3 million in luxe goods from the homes of Paris Hilton, Orlando Bloom, Lindsay Lohan and others.
