ORLANDO, Fla. - Think of this as an added victory during this win streak. Not only did the Miami Heat keep alive the second-longest streak in NBA history, they also provided another opportunity for one of their stars to recuperate. Guard Dwyane Wade sat for a second straight game because of knee soreness, but it didn't matter in a 108-94 victory Monday against the Orlando Magic at Amway Center. LeBron James nearly recorded a triple double with 24 points, 11 assists and nine rebounds, pulling the Heat closer to league history.

HOUSTON -- An undergraduate student at the University of Central Florida apparently  committed suicide in his dorm room, and campus evacuations were ordered after explosives, an assault rifle and a handgun were found in the residence, officials told The Times on Monday. “There is no ongoing threat. What we're dealing with now is the improvised explosive devices -- removing those and making them safe," said campus spokesman Grant Heston. Officials announced that the Orlando campus, which was shut down through the morning, is reopening at noon EDT.  All explosive devices will be removed from Tower 1 before then, officials said.

Tim Tebow just wants to be a pro quarterback. Is that too much for a Heisman Trophy winner/two-time national champion/NFL playoff victor/all-around good guy to ask for? Not in the opinion of Orlando Predators owner Brett Bouchy, who told the Orlando Sentinel he's ready to sign Tebow the second the as-of-now-but-likely-not-much-longer backup quarterback for the New York Jets is available. That's the Orlando Predators of the Arena Football League. OK, perhaps we should have clarified that Tebow would like to be an NFL quarterback.

Join Times Lakers writer Mike Bresnahan and Orlando Sentinel reporter Brian Schmitz for a live video chat today at noon as they discuss Dwight Howard's return to Orlando. As Bresnahan wrote today , "Dwight Howard has a pretty good idea of what awaits Tuesday in Orlando when the Lakers play the Magic . "It'll be piercing and it'll be angry, the antithesis of the Disney World city. "I'm going to start listening to 'boo' tapes," he said. "The object of last season's well-chronicled "Dwightmare" makes his grand return to the city he left to join the Lakers in a dramatic four-team trade last August.

ORLANDO, Fla. - It was impossible to find a trace of Dwight Howard around the team that employed him for eight years. Large graphic illustrations of many past and present Orlando Magic players dotted the interior near the VIP entrance of Amway Arena: Nick Anderson, Darrell Armstrong, Glen Davis, Bo Outlaw, etc. BOX SCORE: Lakers 106, Magic 97 Bo Outlaw? Where was Howard? "There's not one of Dwight," an usher said, shaking her head matter-of-factly. Posters hung from street lamps outside the arena, touting the "Truly Legendary," and including singers Pit Bull and L'il Wayne, but no sign of Howard.

The Lakers (33-31) visit the Magic (18-46) on Tuesday night in Dwight Howard's first game as an opponent in Orlando. Howard was drafted first in 2004 by the Magic, spending eight seasons in Orlando, including a run to the NBA Finals in 2009.  After a difficult 2011-12 season, which ended with back surgery in April, Howard was traded to the Lakers in August. The rebuilding Magic are in second-to-last place in the league. The Lakers slipped back in ninth place after the Utah Jazz won at home on Monday night.

ORLANDO, Fla. - Courtside fans of the Orlando Magic were trying to rankle Dwight Howard, yelling at him early in the fourth quarter. "You can't win without Kobe!" one of them screamed. To which Howard replied from the Lakers' bench, "That's true. " BOX SCORE: Lakers 106, Magic 97 Bryant and Howard continued to solidify their recently developed relationship Tuesday in Howard's return to Orlando. Howard was a force everywhere, even the free-throw line, as Bryant stood back in the shadows of the Lakers' 106-97 victory at Amway Arena.

Dwight Howard proudly broke out his iPad Mini before the Lakers' battle against the Chicago Bulls on Sunday afternoon to share the Orlando Sentinel "Forget You" parody with those in the locker room. The Lakers visit the Magic on Tuesday, Howard's first return to Orlando since the trade last August. The video, released Thursday by the Sentinel, crudely animates current Magic players crooning to Howard. The Lakers center gave his compliments to the video's creators and singers.
