As the spring social season gets underway, make no mistake: Angelenos are generous with their support of good causes, and they certainly enjoy a good party. But nowadays, it takes more than a fancy dinner to attract a crowd. The watchword for today's fundraisers is “fun” - with “fresh” and “original” also part of the lexicon. This is especially true if the objective is to reach the up-and-coming younger demographic. The good news is that much of what's ahead on L.A.'s social scene handily fits the bill.

Jack Osbourne, who became a reality TV star on “The Osbournes,” has put his home in Los Feliz up for sale at $2.998 million. The restored Spanish-style villa, built in 1926, retains its authentic architecture including a central courtyard with a pool, thick wood ceiling beams, wrought-iron banisters and interior archways. The 4,810 square feet of living space includes high ceilings, French doors, living, family and dining rooms, four bedrooms and four bathrooms. There is a basement, and the guesthouse has a kitchenette.

Premiering Tuesday night on Fox after "American Idol," Osbournes Reloaded" -- or as I like to think of it, "Osbournes Satyricon" -- brought the self-proclaimed "first family of being . . . up" into what had been described as variety. It is not variety of the singing/dancing/plate-spinning sort, however, but a series of stunts and pranks interlaced with taped comedy bits that play off the Osbournes' image as rude, crude and lewd -- in an expensively dressed sort of way -- and not fit for normal life.

The 29-year-old purple-haired singer/actress is the daughter of Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne. She gained fame for appearing on “The Osbournes,” which won an Emmy in 2002 for outstanding reality show.

Ozzy Osbourne and the Sunset Strip will be reunited in a big way next weekend as the Sunset Strip Music Festival kicks off Thursday night with a special tribute event to the metal legend at the House of Blues. Ozzy will cap the three-day fest on Saturday night with a performance on one of the two outdoor stages on the Strip, which will be blocked off -- a rare event not seen in recent memory -- between Doheny and San Vicente. It's been nearly 40 years since Ozzy has performed a full set on the Strip.

Like anyone else, Ozzy Osbourne would like some privacy when he's using the john. It's simple courtesy. So the 12 cameras recording "real life" in the Osbourne home six days a week discreetly look away when Ozzy--or someone in the family--is called to the water closet. Television can't get enough of reality--or what it imagines is reality--these days, whether in the form of survivors, moles or big brothers. But if it's reality you want, wouldn't you say a man sitting on a commode is about as real as it gets?

"The Osbournes" didn't quite pick up where they left off, as viewing of the second-season premiere Tuesday totaled 6.6 million viewers -- impressive by MTV's standards, but about 1.2 million short of the audience that tuned in for the unscripted show's finale last spring. The show did face original network fare, including CBS' "Judging Amy," which won the time period with 14.

Diamonds may be forever, but possession could prove fleeting. Beverly Hills police were summoned to investigate after a dispute arose over who gets to keep a necklace awarded in a raffle at a New Year's Eve party hosted by the Osbournes. A female agent from the talent agency ICM says she won the necklace fair and square, but Sharon Osbourne, wife of rocker Ozzy Osbourne, maintains in a police report that the raffle was strictly for invited guests and that the agent was not invited.

Kelly Osbourne is single once again, having ended her engagement to Matthew Mosshart -- but instead of pining, she's been having a little fun with Justin Bieber.  No, not that kind of fun. Osbourne and the Biebs did a little spray-paint tagging, and posted the graffiti results Wednesday night on Instagram. "Most #Random but fun night with @justinbieber!" read one caption . "Just had so much fun getting lessons from @justinbieber on how to #SprayPaint! ... All I did was the horns!

Sharon Osbourne says she's sorry she told the women on "The View" that they could go [bleep] themselves. But we're guessing she's probably not sorry for all the PR her comments and subsequent apology have generated. And that's why lately "The Talk" has been coming out ahead of its archrival in the daytime talk wars. The controversy started when Osbourne told Arsenio Hall this week that while Barbara Walters is "divine," the rest of "The View" panelists -- that would be Whoopi Goldberg, Jenny McCarthy and Sherri Shepherd -- could go do something unnatural to themselves (expressed in more salty language)

Sharon Osbourne has decided Kanye West is not only not a god -- he's not even that talented. "He's an average-looking guy with an average talent," the co-host of CBS' "The Talk" said on Thursday's show. Mrs. O's dig was part of a "Talk" backlash against the rapper, who has been even more boastful than usual while promoting his new album "Yeezus. " In one interview, West -- who just had a baby named North with Kim Kardashian -- called himself the "No. 1 living and breathing rock star" and compared himself favorably with Jimi Hendrix and Jim Morrison.

For decades, the question from fans and journalists was constant and predictable: Would the heavy metal originators of Black Sabbath ever make another album? Not that they hadn't tried. In 2001, singer Ozzy Osbourne, guitarist Tony Iommi, bassist Geezer Butler and drummer Bill Ward convened in England to work on new music. And nothing came of it. For years afterward, Osbourne openly fretted in interviews about tampering with the band's legacy. This week, Black Sabbath finally delivered "13," the band's first album with Osbourne in 35 years.

Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne hit the red carpet together at a charity event over the weekend, and the reunion has many wondering whether the couple is officially back together. "The Talk's" Sharon Osbourne, who's been married to the rocker since 1982, split with him last month because of his substance abuse issues and reports that he had fallen off the wagon. Once tabloid articles on their relationship status hit a fever pitch, Ozzy, 64, said that he and Sharon were not divorcing by posting a candid Facebook post on the matter and that his drinking and substance abuse were taking a toll on the ones he loved the most.
