Brett Favre has a pretty good idea of what Peyton Manning went through Sunday night. That was likely the thinking when the NFL Network brought the former Packers star quarterback on for an interview Sunday morning in anticipation of Manning's return to Indianapolis as a member of the Denver Broncos that night. In 2009 Favre came to Green Bay as a member of the hated Minnesota Vikings after 16 years, two Super Bowl appearances and one Lombardi Trophy with the Packers. He discussed the "awkward" drive to Lambeau Field that day, past several old hangouts and even his old house just half a mile from the stadium.

What's the worst that could happen? The Green Bay Packers found out Sunday in one of the wildest sequences of Week 3. Protecting a three-point lead and hoping to get another score - and run out the clock with four minutes left - the Packers thought they had a first down at the Cincinnati 29. The Bengals challenged, however, and replays showed Green Bay was just short. So on fourth and inches at the 30, Packers rookie Johnathan Franklin took a handoff up the middle but was stopped and stripped of the ball.

How did the San Diego Chargers prepare to face Philadelphia on a quick turnaround? In part, they spent last week turning around quickly. To prepare for Sunday's game at Philadelphia after a Monday night opener and to adjust to Chip Kelly's fast-forward offense, the Chargers secretly employed a novel strategy at their closed-to-the-media practices. Instead of getting a long look at the formation they were facing, defensive players turned their backs to the offense and instead trained their eyes on defensive coordinator John Pagano.

The Green Bay Packers might be forced to shuffle their renovated offensive line after starting left tackle Bryan Bulaga reportedly suffered a season-ending knee injury during a weekend scrimmage. Only three months ago, Coach Mike McCarthy moved Bulaga from right tackle to left tackle, Pro Bowl guard Josh Sitton from right guard to left guard, T.J. Lang from left guard to right guard and Marshall Newhouse , who started 28 games the last two seasons at left tackle, to right tackle.

The Green Bay Packers made a commitment to the future of their running game in April when they drafted two running backs -- former UCLA standout Johnathan Franklin and ex-Alabama star Eddie Lacy. However, only one of them is making big headlines out of Packers training camp. Speculation regarding Lacy's weight exploded in the Twitterverse earlier this week after theScore.com 's David Woods tweeted an unflattering comparison photo of the running back: Wait... did Eddie Lacy EAT Johnathan Franklin?
