Placentia Ca Development And Redevelopment

Placentia's old oil reserves in the southeastern part of the city will make way for an upscale residential development. The City Council voted 3 to 1 Tuesday to rezone the 51 acres southeast of Rose Drive and Alta Vista Street for 183 houses and a commercial center. Councilman Norman Eckenrode opposed the project, citing concerns with the grading and the construction of a storm drain. Councilwoman Maria Moreno abstained, saying she wanted more information.
