A state police trooper was shot and killed Wednesday shortly after stopping a suspected drunken driver near Klamath Falls, authorities said. Senior Trooper Bret R. Clodfelter, 34, was found slumped over the steering wheel of his car on a residential drive. No suspects were in custody.
