Fifteen contestants failed to win the progressive jackpot in the California Lottery, which rose to a record $7.385 million. Six contestants won $100,000 each in the 26th Big Spin, but none hit the six spots set aside for $1-million prizes or the three slots designating the jackpot. Altogether, 67 contestants have spun the wheel since March 22, when Rose Albrecht, 86, of Banning won a jackpot of $4.6 million. The biggest win so far was $6.380 million on March 15.

A Los Angeles County probation officer won $1 million in the California Lottery and had to be helped to keep her feet when she almost collapsed from excitement. A 64-year-old San Clemente woman won $50,000 in the California Lottery's "Big Spin." Irene Cocchiara, the only Orange County contestant in this week's spin, was one of 15 people who got a chance to spin the lottery wheel. Although a woman from Weed, in Northern California, won a $1-million award, nobody landed the progressive jackpot, which will begin at $9.305 million next week. The grand prize increases by $300,000 each time someone wins a smaller amount.
