The mysterious sewage spill that has fouled Huntington Beach since early July grew by a mile Wednesday, forcing lifeguards to shoo sunbathers from the waterline in the downtown area and threatening merchants with an economically disastrous Labor Day weekend. The search has widened for the source of the pollution that now has a 4.2-mile stretch of shoreline off-limits to swimmers and surfers. "Our business was cut in half because of the first closure.

Is your five-day series "Republican Reign" in Orange County really news? Everyone over the age of 7 knows that the majority of Orange County supports a 73-year-old, card-carrying National Rifle Assn. member who has strong ties to the tobacco industry. He speaks of less government but will tell a woman and her doctor what she should do with her baby. It appears that wealth and conservatism go together. Therefore, I must thank Democratic U.S. Sens. It's time Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-Huntington Beach) headed up a recall for newly elected Assemblyman Scott Baugh (R-Huntington Beach). More than a dozen Latino activists demonstrated outside Rep. Dana Rohrabacher's office Wednesday, blasting him and several other elected officials for supporting federal legislation that would deny long-term aid to illegal immigrants who suffered losses in the Northridge earthquake. Members of the Chicano Unidos Coalition labeled Rohrabacher (R-Huntington Beach) and Rep.

In regard to the latest anti-immigrant proposal voiced by Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-Huntington Beach), "Rohrabacher Proposes Legislation to Deny Federal Quake Relief to Illegal Immigrants" (Jan. 23), he once again has joined in the ever-increasing wave of immigrant bashing by further fueling the issue with insensitivity, ignorance and racist overtones. Historically, immigrants, especially those of Latin American countries, have had the tendency to not demand or even request any type of social service from the county, state or federal level.

Visitors from 38 nations and 50 states have raved about the Huntington Beach International Surfing Museum.
