IT'S a jungle out there. And we can blame it on Jack Nicholson. Not only are Louis Vuitton, Valentino, Dolce & Gabbana and Roger Vivier releasing wild leopard-print slouch bags and satchels this awards season but some fashion-forward actresses -- and such uber-trendsetters as Vogue editor Anna Wintour and stylist Rachel Zoe -- are already on the prowl in slinky leopard-print silk dresses, coats, blouses and even Ugg-style boots, platform heels, long scarves and belts.

Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith rocked out, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner got the word out and a constellation of celebrities took their wallets out -- to the tune of $830,000 -- at a charity event and mini-concert organized by John Varvatos and funding a program helping child victims of sexual assault. That brings the total raised by the annual event over the last decade to $3.53 million, with funds going to the Stuart House , a program created by the Rape Treatment Center at Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center to serve the special needs of sexually abused children.  While the silent auction and a spirited live auction helped the event easily outstrip last year's $700,000 fundraiser , honorary co-chairs Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck underscored the benefit's other goal of shining a light on the topic of childhood sexual abuse -- and programs that deal with it. "When I first visited Stuart House eight or nine years ago, I was so impressed with how safe it felt," Garner told the crowd.  In his comments, Affleck explained that he got involved because his wife had hosted an earlier incarnation of the event.

One look at Mena Suvari in that little black dress at the Beverly Hills Hotel's 100th-anniversary party Saturday was simply not enough. That night's event was supporting the Motion Picture & Television Fund and the American Comedy Fund, but what in the world was supporting the top of Suvari's frock?  The Maria Lucia Hohan dress, which retails for about $630 at Monday's exchange rate, was the brainchild of stylist Taylor Jacobson, according to Suvari's Twitter feed. PARIS -- An organ solo. A procession of models in short dresses with wispy, wing-like panels pinned at their backs. No doubt, Riccardo Tisci had his Catholic roots in mind when he designed his spring-summer 2013 Givenchy collection, shown Sunday night during Paris Fashion Week. But he was also worshiping at the church of couture, paying homage to the old master Hubert de Givenchy, who founded his French fashion house in 1952. The inspiration: The 1960s Givenchy archives, the traditional dress of nuns and the style of Italian architect Carlo Molino.

Thakoon PANICHGUL, the up-and-coming designer from New York, was given a warm L.A. welcome last weekend courtesy of Tracey Ross. The Sunset Plaza boutique owner, who hosted a Thakoon trunk show earlier in the day, took over a roof atop the local offices of Motley Bird, the Australian energy drink, for an intimate dinner. Between chatting up Jacqui Getty, Rachel Zoe and Kelly Lynch, Panichgul recalled the first stylish woman to make him fall in love with this city: Mrs. Roper.

HERMeS is being all hush-hush about it, but there was Cameron Silver, owner of L.A.'s famed vintage emporium Decades, flashing the coolest of man bags around the Paris men's shows earlier this month. And it turns out he'd designed the bag himself. For Hermes. The "Cameron" is a structured flap style not unlike a Birkin in dark leather with Hermes orange lining, a shoulder strap and side pockets. When unfolded, it looks roomy enough to accommodate a handful of yellow legal pads.
