Meanwhile, in Lagos, the country's main city, members of the locally dominant Yoruba ethnic group clashed with northern Hausa Muslims after a truck driven by a Hausa lost control and crashed into a crowd, killing 20 people. But an outbreak of religious violence Tuesday in Sokoto appeared to be the more worrisome.
