The City Council tonight will consider an ordinance setting the date for municipal elections. The council has three options: the first Tuesday in March of odd-numbered years, the second Tuesday in April of even-numbered years or consolidating the city's elections with statewide general elections. If the council votes to have elections on the same day as the state, the first municipal election would be in November 2002.
