WWE SummerSlam delivered more than its share of thrills Sunday night -- but it saved the most shocking for last. John Cena entered the event as the WWE champion but lost his belt to handpicked challenger Daniel Bryan. But Bryan didn't leave Staples Center as the WWE champion either. As the bearded wrestler celebrated in the ring, Randy Orton's theme music started to play. Orton entered the arena carrying his Money In the Bank briefcase, which allows him to challenge for the WWE championship at any time.

It doesn't always stay in Vegas Dave Romleski is hanging up his furry green suit after the season and moving to Germany -- where life will be much safer. Better known as the Duke, a charismatic mascot for the Las Vegas Wranglers minor-league hockey club, Romleski tells the Las Vegas Sun of the time he blew out a knee and fell to his rump in agony during a playoff game last year. A kid leaped forth and with both fists "was teeing off on my nose, using it as a speed bag. " Then there was the time an errant puck flew into a narrow opening Romleski looks through and struck him in the left eye, knocking him senseless.

The day after one of the biggest professional wrestling events of the year, Randy Orton, the heavily tattooed, frequently sneering, six-time World Wrestling Entertainment champion, is standing in the bowels of the Staples Center confessing a lack of self-confidence. Not about his most recent performance in the ring, where he administered the requisite body slams, clotheslines and backbreakers to his rival, Irish wrestler Sheamus. This is about channeling his inner Humphrey Bogart more than his inner Hulk Hogan.

Jerry "The King" Lawler, a commentator on WWE's "Monday Night Raw" television show, collapsed during tonight's live telecast and has been rushed to a Montreal hospital. In the world of pro wrestling, which tries to blur the line between real life and entertainment, this is all too real. Lawler had stopped breathing and was given CPR at the arena. He collapsed during a match between the team of Daniel Bryan and Kane vs. The Prime Time Players, during which most people in the stands could be seen watching the commentator area (which is off camera during matches)

On this week's "Monday Night Raw," CM Punk continued his slow march to the dark side, and the show is better off for it. Ten things to take away from this week's episode: 1. We just saw Shawn Michaels two weeks ago, and he's already back? I saw less of the guy before he retired. 2. Michaels, however, is one of the few wrestlers who know how to sell a segment. His facial expressions during the entire Michaels, Triple H, Paul Heymand and Brock Lesnar confrontation were great.
