A man suspected of being the tattooed rapist, who bore a teardrop-shaped tattoo under his left eye and is blamed for a series of rapes in Los Angeles and other cities in California during the 1980s, has been arrested in Iowa, authorities said Sunday. Frank Everett Comstock, 46, was arrested in a motel in Williams by FBI agents and local sheriff's deputies after they got a tip Saturday that he was in the small farm town, authorities said.

A teenager is the subject of an arrest warrant after failing to appear in court to be tried on charges of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old British girl on a skiing vacation. The trial of Paul Klesic, 18, was to have begun Monday in Mammoth Lakes. He allegedly attacked the girl at a party in February. A 17-year-old boy, also from Santa Monica, was charged with attacking a 14-year-old girl at the same party and is being tried separately as a juvenile. Both girls are from Birmingham, England.

A suspected serial rapist who has been a fugitive for 10 years appears to be in the Los Angeles area, FBI officials said Tuesday. Frank Everett Comstock Jr., 46, of Los Angeles, is believed to have raped five women since 1980. He was described by Lawrence G. Lawler, special agent in charge of the FBI's Los Angeles office, as armed and dangerous. FBI officials say they have information that Comstock is in the area but declined to elaborate.

Bobby Duckworth, a former wide receiver with the San Diego Chargers and Rams, is being sought by police in connection with an alleged rape and beating that reportedly occurred last week in his Carlsbad home. Duckworth, 32, is suspected of beating and raping a 28-year-old Carlsbad woman whom he had reportedly picked up in a restaurant and taken home, police said.
