Police sought the public's help Wednesday in a search for the second of two men suspected in a series of rapes and robberies of women in Los Angeles' Eastside neighborhoods. Authorities reported 15 incidents from June 12 to Sept. 27 in Boyle Heights, East Los Angeles and Montebello. The victims were young to middle-aged women. Last Thursday, police arrested Jonathan Mendoza, 19, of Los Angeles after one of the incidents, authorities said.

A 14-year-old boy pleaded guilty Wednesday to acting as an accomplice in the gang rape of a drunk, unconscious teenage girl during a daytime ditch party in Van Nuys. The boy's plea was not part of a deal, prosecutors said. Deputy Dist. Atty. Dan Feldstern declined to say whether he has agreed to testify against other defendants. The boy was sentenced Wednesday by Los Angeles County Superior Court Commissioner Jack Gold to a maximum of three years in custody.

A woman was kidnapped at knifepoint in broad daylight by a man who hid in her parked car and sexually molested her before she escaped, sheriff's deputies said. The attacker hid on the rear floorboard until the victim returned from shopping Monday and drove away from a strip-mall parking lot at 15th Street and West Avenue J-12, according to Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies. He then put a knife to her neck and told her to give him her money.

A man suspected of abducting three women from college campuses and raping two of them has been arrested, authorities said Wednesday. Richard Nichols, 22, of Los Angeles was arrested Tuesday near the USC campus after officers located his truck using information from one of the victims, said Los Angeles Police Lt. Alan Kerstein. "We believe he committed a kidnap-rape last Friday, Oct. 4, at 38th and Flower streets," Kerstein said.

The 64-year-old woman was walking for exercise near Gate 14 between 8:55 and 9:40 a.m. when a man with a knife surprised her from behind and forced her to the bushes, where he raped her, said Pomona Police Sgt. Gordon Jones "The fairgrounds had no events scheduled at that time. The parking lot area of the fairgrounds was empty," Jones said.

Police said the girl was waiting for a friend Friday morning at Vanowen Street and Balboa Boulevard when Jalil Abdul Aziz, 23, of Northridge, forced her into his vehicle.
