Friday night's game was all about Clippers All-Star power forward Blake Griffin dominating the Toronto Raptors, when he wasn't getting in foul trouble. But this game was also about DeAndre Jordan staying the course when he was intentionally fouled by the Raptors and it was about Willie Green providing the Clippers with a spark when it was needed. Griffin, who played just 28 minutes and 19 seconds because of foul problems, had 36 points on 13-for-18 shooting and eight rebounds to help the Clippers to a 118-105 victory over the Raptors at Staples Center.

Lakers 118, Raptors 116 OT (final) It took 3 1/2 months, and an overtime period on Friday, but the Lakers are over .500 again. The Lakers (32-31) beat Toronto, 118-116, at Staples Center on Friday night, thanks primarily to Kobe Bryant. The All-Star guard scored 41 points, including a two-handed dunk over DeMar DeRozan to give the Lakers a 117-115 lead with 10.6 seconds to go. Bryant also led the Lakers with 12 assists. Rudy Gay missed a 15-footer at the buzzer to seal the Lakers' win. The Lakers trailed for most of the game before Bryant hit a three-pointer with 4.4 seconds left to tie the score at 109. Gay also missed a jumper at the buzzer for Toronto in regulation that could have won the game.

Raptors 108, Lakers 103 (final) The Lakers had no defense for the Raptors, falling 108-103 on Sunday morning in Toronto. With Dwight Howard's ejection in the second quarter combined with an awful shooting performance from Kobe Bryant (10 of 32 from the field), the Lakers only challenged the Raptors in spurts. Toronto shot 54.8% from the field, led by Jose Calderon with 22 points and nine assists.  Coach Mike D'Antoni tried to stop Calderon by having Bryant guard him but the Lakers never really found a way to slow the veteran point guard from Spain in losing their fifth consecutive road game.

Dinosaurs could go extinct -- again. Toronto Raptors new CEO Tim Leiweke recently suggested that the organization may consider changing its name.  “We're definitely going to take a look at it," Leiweke told the National Post. "It doesn't mean we're committed to it. It means it's a good conversation. I saw those generic uniforms today in the paper. … That won't be the uniform, by the way. I can assure you of that. I think we need to have this conversation.” Toronto's expansion team chose its name in 1994, opting for "Raptors" because of the popularity of the movie "Jurassic Park.

DENVER -- Clippers All-Star point guard Chris Paul is inching closer to playing basketball again, perhaps as soon as Friday night when his team hosts the Toronto Raptors at Staples Center. Paul, who has sat out 16 games because of a separated right shoulder, has been doing some shooting and running drills on his own. He hasn't practiced with the team because the Clippers haven't practiced recently. But after the Clippers had a shootaround Monday, Coach Doc Rivers said Paul "gets on the floor and we go over plays.

The Raptors lost more than a basketball game Tuesday night. Rookie Marcus Camby was rushed to hospital with limited feeling in his legs after collapsing on the court prior to the Sacramento Kings' 98-87 victory over the Raptors. Camby, the 1995-96 college player of the year and the second player chosen in the draft, fell to the floor at about 5:30 p.m. and lay motionless for about 25 minutes while a neck brace was applied. It took six paramedics and trainers to put the 6-foot-11 Camby on a stretcher for the 10-minute trip to Toronto Western Hospital for tests.
