Residents and protesters traded shouts and fists over whether a supermarket should be built on the grounds of a former Nazi concentration camp in the city of Fuerstenberg, about 60 miles north of Berlin. The Nazis used it to intern women and children. In an attempt to cool passions, Manfred Stolpe, governor of eastern Germany's Brandenburg state, visited the site of the Ravensbrueck camp.
