An unemployed Las Vegas man was charged with extortion Monday in the ransom kidnaping of gambling mogul Steve Wynn's daughter after his arrest in Newport Beach as he tried to pay cash for a new Ferrari. Ray Marion Cuddy, 47, was arrested Sunday by a group of 14 officers from the FBI and Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department when he arrived at Newport Imports to drop off nearly $70,000--his final installment in the purchase of a new, 1992 white Ferrari 512TR.

Federal agents have begun a nationwide manhunt for two young suspects who they believe conspired with an out-of-work circus performer to kidnap Kevin Wynn, the daughter of Las Vegas casino mogul Stephen A. Wynn. Arrest warrants were issued Tuesday for the two Sacramento men, Jacob Harold Sherwood, 21, and Anthony Paul Watkins, 20.

Three men were indicted Wednesday by a federal grand jury on charges stemming from the kidnaping of the daughter of casino mogul Stephen A. Wynn. Ray Cuddy, Jacob Sherwood and Anthony Watkins were charged with extortion and use of a firearm during a crime of violence. Authorities are still searching for Sherwood, 21, and Watkins, 20, two Sacramento men who investigators believe were recruited by Cuddy to help in the kidnaping.

In a rare public glimpse of the vulnerable side of this city's wealthy gambling Establishment, the daughter of casino mogul Steven A. Wynn testified Wednesday that kidnapers photographed her in her underwear and threatened to distribute the pictures nationally if her father contacted police instead of paying her ransom. Kevin Wynn, 27, described being grabbed in her kitchen by two masked men last July, blindfolded, posed and photographed with a tall assailant whom she could not see.
