Robert Singer, producer of NBC's new series, "Reasonable Doubts," received the top award Wednesday during the 13th annual Media Access Awards ceremonies honoring the promotion and accurate portrayal of the disabled in Hollywood. The awards, given by the California Governor's Committee for the Employment of Disabled Persons, celebrated what many said was a good year in Hollywood for actors with disabilities.

I was absolutely astonished that Walter could so blatantly misrepresent some of the world's great literature in order to justify the mindless and endless brutality seen in today's films. In addition, although practically every study that has ever been done on the subject shows clear correlations between fictional violence and real violence, Walter dismisses them all by merely stating that "they tend to be flawed."
