Do you know who Reese Witherspoon is? If not, prepare to be sassed. That was the lesson one police officer learned late Friday night, as the Oscar-winning actress became agitated after her husband, CAA agent Jim Toth, was arrested for driving under the influence in Atlanta. After he was observed driving a Ford Focus in the wrong lane, Toth was pulled over by cops; Witherspoon was apparently so frustrated with the situation that she began mouthing off to the police and was subsequently arrested for disorderly conduct.

Reese Witherspoon is a brunet! The Academy Award-winning actress has gone to the dark side and dyed her signature legally blond tresses brown. Witherspoon was spotted in Nashville over the weekend with the new 'do pulled back in a messy bun and sported her signature wispy bangs. She was photographed with husband Jim Toth, toting around their 6-month old son, Tennessee, according to E! News. The actress most notably went for a darker shade as part of her award-winning role in 2005's "Walk the Line," in which she played Johnny Cash love interest June Carter.

I know that Prohibition didn't work. But sometimes I get nostalgic for it anyway. And I'm thinking that, today, Reese Witherspoon and Al Michaels might agree. By now you've seen the headlines about their misadventures with demon rum. If you're a news junkie, you might even have read the stories. If you're under 30, you've checked out the tweets -- which, I'm told, is just as good if not better than reading whole stories, like us old fogies do. (An aside here: Did you catch the wonderful documentary about “ All the President's Men ” and Watergate on Sunday?

The film version of Cheryl Strayed's memoir "Wild" is picking up steam: Reese Witherspoon has signed on to portray the author. In the book, Strayed writes of hiking the 1,000-mile Pacific Crest trail alone, compelled by grief over her mother's death, a failed relationship and a need to seek out answers. Oprah Winfrey found it so compelling that she revived her shuttered book club for it. "Wild" was a 2012 bestseller. The film has a strong literary pedigree -- in addition to the original book, the screenplay was written by Nick Hornby, author of "High Fidelity" and "About a Boy. " As a novelist, Hornby has had a number of bestsellers, and he received an Oscar nomination for his screenplay of "An Education.

Reese Witherspoon and Cameron Diaz joined gal pal Drew Barrymore and others for a "girls trip" in Napa Valley this week that's giving us major culinary envy. The A-listers headed up to the Northern California wine country on Wednesday for what Witherspoon, 37, dubbed #girlstrip2014 , or what we want to refer to as "Charlie's Angels" meets "Eat Pray Love" with a dash of "Julie and Julia" and some "Legally Blonde" mixed in for good measure. The leading ladies took a cooking class at the Culinary Institute of America in St. Helena , just north of Napa, at the majestic Greystone property.
