Arizona senior point guard Reggie Geary grew up playing against Kansas guard Jacque Vaughn in the Southland, and Geary did an apprenticeship the past few seasons at Arizona under star guards Damon Stoudamire and Khalid Reeves. Yet when the names of the nation's top guards were bantered around this season, Geary was rarely mentioned. After Arizona guard Reggie Geary made his first two shots, he knew that he was in for a good night. Geary finished with eight-of-11 shooting from the field and a career-high 21 points Saturday night as No. 4 Arizona beat Texas El Paso, 90-70, at Tucson. "It's always big for me to hit my first couple of shots," said Geary, whose first two baskets were on three-point shots. "I'm a streak shooter. When I can hit the first two that gives me confidence for the whole game."

Reggie Geary can do it all on the basketball court. He has always been a crowd-pleaser with his acrobatic dunks and fancy passes. Often animated, Geary admits he is a bit of a character who enjoys performing in front of big crowds in big arenas. This season, Geary was Mater Dei's leader, the only senior among the top nine players on the team.

For what it's worth, Lute Olson is 0-4 in the Final Four. In 1980, Olson's Iowa team lost to Louisville and Purdue. Arizona also lost to Kansas in 1988. Reggie Geary kept up Arizona's we-don't-get-any-respect theme. Said Geary: "Two years from now, nobody will even know Arizona was in the Final Four, but we will."
