Reggie Miller will be a TNT analyst alongside Marv Albert and Steve Kerr for the NBA All-Star game next Sunday in Orlando, Fla., with the network airing exclusive coverage of All-Star weekend starting Thursday. The former UCLA star knows the scene well, having played in five All-Star games during a distinguished NBA career (1987-2005) spent exclusively with the Indiana Pacers. Raised in Riverside and currently residing in Los Angeles, Miller, 46, scored more than 25,000 points and made more than 2,500 three-pointers during a career that included several memorable playoff battles against the New York Knicks and a trip to the 2000 NBA Finals against the champion Lakers.

Blake Griffin approached the media for his session Friday and smiled as he prepared to answer questions about the first-round playoff series between his Clippers and the Golden State Warriors. Then Griffin's eyes grew wide when the Clippers All-Star power forward was asked if there were any lingering problems between him and Warriors center Jermaine O'Neal. Griffin assured everyone he had no issues with O'Neal. The question was asked because Griffin and O'Neal had a confrontation in the hallway outside the Clippers' locker room the last time the two teams played at Staples Center on March 12. The two exchanged words after O'Neal approached a surprised Griffin, but nothing happened.

Who doesn't have an opinion on the Lakers' woes? Almost every hoop analyst has had a turn, and then some, at offering perspective on the matter, so why not Reggie Miller. The Basketball Hall of Famer -- he was inducted in September - grew up in Riverside and played for UCLA. So there is a deeper understanding of the Southern California sports landscape and meaning of the Lakers. Miller is an NBA analyst for TNT, which is carrying Thursday night's Lakers-Knicks game. (Miller, the Knick-killer, in his Pacers days, won't be on that game, by the way.)

Indiana Pacers power forward David West has been fined $15,000 by the NBA for elbowing Clippers power forward Blake Griffin in the jaw during their game Saturday in Indianapolis, the league announced Sunday. The incident occurred at the end of the second quarter, when Griffin missed a shot as time expired and the two reached for the rebound. West was behind Griffin and each had a hand on the ball. As the two separated, West brought his arm down and caught Griffin in the jaw. West was given a flagrant foul two and ejected from the game.

Indiana guard Reggie Miller broke a bone in his left hand in the Pacers' exhibition finale against Denver on Friday night in Indianapolis and is expected to be sidelined four to six weeks. The 39-year-old Miller was injured during the first quarter of Indiana's 98-79 loss to the Nuggets and left holding his non-shooting hand. He will be reexamined today. "It's a good thing we have an extra [shooting] guard over there," Pacer Coach Rick Carlisle said, referring to Stephen Jackson and Fred Jones.

Even as a virtual shoo-in for election to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame next year, Reggie Miller is following in the footsteps of his older sister. ? Cheryl Miller was inducted 15 years ago. ? Once, the story goes, Reggie was reveling in a high-scoring game as a teen in Riverside when he asked Cheryl how many points she'd scored that day and was stopped in his tracks. ? "105," she said. ? Who would have ever guessed that Zydrunas Ilgauskas' return to Cleveland would create such a ruckus?

It's a weekday morning, and Pauley Pavilion is dark and empty. Reggie Miller strolls in, pokes his head into an office and asks for some lights. His request is instantly granted. Considering all the times Reggie has shot the lights out in this place, it's only appropriate he should also possess the power to turn 'em on. Reggie, in street clothes, walks onto the court, dribbling a ball.

Reggie Miller, the junior forward who represents the bulk of the Bruin offense, will not be at full strength even if he is able to play when UCLA meets DePaul at Pauley Pavilion at noon today. As of Friday evening, UCLA Coach Walt Hazzard had not decided whether Miller, who jammed his left thumb in practice Thursday when he hit it either on the basket or on the backboard, would be ready to play. Miller did not participate in full practice Friday, but he did do some shooting.

Lakers fans have yet another reason to groan at the thought of Boston. A Boston guy came up with the idea of covering the Lakers' championship banners and retired jerseys  at Staples Center during Clippers games, according to Clippers Coach Doc Rivers. Here's how it went down. "Last year when the Clippers were blowing us out, obviously I was sitting there with Eddie Lacerte, our trainer in Boston, and he taps me on the leg and says, 'Look at that,' " Rivers said before Wednesday's preseason game against the Utah Jazz.  "I didn't want to look at anything at that point, we were down by 30 points, and I look up and you see all the banners.

Eastern Conference semifinals No. 2 Knicks vs. No. 3 Pacers Season series: Tied, 2-2. Key stat: Indiana held Atlanta to 89.3 points per game in the first round, limiting the Hawks to 33% shooting in the final two games. Outlook: It may seem like old times with these teams rekindling a playoff rivalry that saw them go head to head six times from 1993 to 2000, but about the only reminder of the Pacers of Reggie Miller and the Knicks of Patrick Ewing could be Spike Lee watching the action at Madison Square Garden.

Ohio State's LaQuinton Ross received a lot of attention in the last 24 hours. That happens when you step up and make a tie-breaking three-pointer with 2.1 seconds left to keep alive your team's dreams of winning a national title. Ross' shot on Thursday gave Ohio State a 73-70 victory over Arizona, advancing the Buckeyes to Saturday's NCAA West Regional final against Wichita State at Staples Center. Asked what the aftermath had been like, Ross said, "Basically, just a lot of phone calls, a lot of texts, a lot of stuff on Twitter.

Picture long, tall Reggie Miller loping across the court, with a basketball tucked under his arm, leaving center court, heading for the exits. Disappearing. Leaving a void.

It's time to forget February and separate the schools you didn't want to play in December and January, Texas and Villanova, from the teams you don't want to play now. Timing is everything as the NCAA tournament approaches. Texas started out 11-0 in Big 12 Conference play and seemed on track to challenge for a championship in Houston, site of this year's Final Four. Wouldn't it be cool if the Longhorns replicated the Dallas Cowboys' feat of winning this year's Super Bowl in their home state?
