Infant Teethers Recalled: The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the action on about 9,000 teethers, either pink or blue, that are scented and were sold mainly at Dollar Bill Stores nationwide. The teethers, imported from China and distributed by Remco Toys Co./Azrak International Inc., contain a toxic substance that can irritate children's eyes, the commission said. No illnesses have been reported. The teethers should be returned to the stores where they were bought for refunds.

The four-year contract that Reggie Jackson signed with the Angels before the 1982 season does and doesn't expire at the end of this season. Jackson has already met the criteria for an option year and plans to play again in 1986, he said here Tuesday. "I'll play my fifth year unless I'm an embarrassment to the club and myself this year," he said, but he doesn't believe he will be.

The longer Paul Pressler stared at the rendering for a toy Simba (lion cub heroof the Disney movie "The Lion King"), the more he realized something wasn't quite right. It was the eyes. They lacked the empathetic spark Pressler wanted. So he had them changed. And when the Disney executive began fiddling with the look of a new Disney Store, he went again for the heartstrings, designing displays to evoke great moments from "Snow White," "Fantasia" and the studio's other animated classics.
