Twenty Los Angeles police officers who assert that they were injured by toxic fumes during a fire at a Sun Valley chemical firm last April have filed an $18-million lawsuit against the company, their attorney said Friday. The suit, filed in San Fernando Superior Court, maintains that the officers suffered physically, emotionally and financially because of their exposure to toxic chemicals "negligently and carelessly stored" at Research Organic and Inorganic Chemical Corp., 9068 De Garmo Ave.
