Word got out that Revere Transducers, one of the world's largest makers of load cells for large vehicles, was exploring a move of its headquarters from Cerritos to 100,000 square feet of research and development space in Irvine or Tustin. Brokers have been calling ever since.

SI Technologies Inc. said it agreed to acquire Revere Transducers Inc., a Tustin-based manufacturer of sensors and other devices, for $10.4 million in cash, from Harnischfeger Industries. About half of Revere's annual revenue of $21 million is generated outside the United States. Seattle-based SI also said it plans to acquire Allegany Technology Inc. of Cumberland, Md. Terms were not disclosed.
