Under U.S. and European pressure, Israeli armor pulled out of the West Bank town of Beit Jala early today, ending a two-day invasion after Palestinian leaders agreed to stop attacks on a nearby Jewish neighborhood, the army and witnesses said. Shooting stopped about midnight, and the pullout was completed by dawn, security officials and witnesses said. One Beit Jala family whose house had been taken over by troops said by telephone that the soldiers left about 5 a.m.
