A Los Angeles federal judge sentenced a businessman to 18 months in prison Friday for taking part in a scheme to sink a $1.9-million yacht off the coast of Italy to collect on a $3.5-million insurance policy. The sentence represents time previously served by Paul A. Ebeling, 62, of St. Louis after he was indicted on 13 criminal counts, including conspiracy, fraud and perjury.
