After a tumultuous four years, including three council censures and an arrest for disrupting a council meeting, Pasadena City Councilman Isaac Richard is not running for reelection. Richard, who could not be reached for comment, did not submit the nomination papers required for seeking reelection by the 5:30 p.m. Friday deadline. Richard, 37, a strong advocate of African American causes, was arrested for disrupting a City Council meeting in November. No charges have been filed in the case.

"Married . . . With Children" star Katey Sagal will host "Lions and Tigers and Hares," a fund-raiser for AIDS Project Los Angeles being held Sept. 7 at the Playboy Mansion in Holmby Hills. The filmmaking generation that grew up with Alfred Hitchcock created thrillers that at worst were Hitchcock rip-offs and, at best, as with prime Brian De Palma, neo-Hitchcock fantasias. The new psychological thriller "Final Analysis" (citywide) is directed by Phil Joanou, who is still in his 20s and one of the first thriller filmmakers of the post-De Palma era. Although shrouded in the immense shadow of The Master, most of the film's effects are derived not from Hitchcock but from his imitators.
