Jon Bon Jovi doesn't want to be another wave in the ocean. He is a rock, not just another grain of sand. And he definitely rocked Wednesday night at the Honda Center in Anaheim. Why? Because he can. Rock band Bon Jovi made a stop in Anaheim as part of its Because We Can tour, in support of its album “What About Now.” Having started in Washington, D.C., earlier this year, the group is poised to perform across North America, Asia, Europe, Africa and Latin America. PHOTOS: Iconic rock guitars and their owners With returns to Wales and South Africa and first-time shows in Bulgaria and Poland, the tour snagged the No. 1 spot in Pollstar's Top 100 Mid Year Worldwide Tours, having already grossed $142.1 million.

Don't worry about guitarist Richie Sambora if and when his boss, Jon Bon Jovi, finally goes solo for good. Sambora's show Tuesday at UCLA's Royce Hall--mixing material from his new "Stranger in This Town" solo debut album, a few Bon Jovi numbers and a couple of blues and rock oldies--seemed like a dress rehearsal for an inevitable run at arena-rock stardom in his own right.

Roger Ebert, one of America's preeminent and popular film critics, has announced that he will reduce the amount of writing he takes on as he fights a new battle with cancer, calling it a "leave of presence. " Writing on his site Tuesday night, Ebert said that a hip fracture has turned out to be cancerous and that he was taking a pause as he received radiation treatment. He still will write, but many reviews will be picked up by others. "Last year, I wrote the most [reviews] of my career, including 306 movie reviews, a blog post or two a week, and assorted other articles," he wrote.

Bon Jovi lead guitarist Richie Sambora was arrested Tuesday night on suspicion of driving under the influence, police said Wednesday. Sambora, 48, failed a series of sobriety tests after being pulled over south of downtown Laguna Beach shortly before 11 p.m. Tuesday, Sgt. Jason Kravetz said. The musician chose a blood test over a Breathalyzer test, Kravetz said. His blood-alcohol level was above the legal limit of 0.08%, but a specific level would not be available for at least a week, Kravetz said.

Let it never be said that Bon Jovi didn't play with spirit and honest directness Saturday night at Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre. The only problem was, it wasn't until the encore that those qualities emerged, and more than half the band was off stage taking a breather at the time. The high point of the show was "Ride Cowboy Ride," a simple, straightforward acoustic strum-and-harmony number played and sung by leader Jon Bon Jovi and guitarist Richie Sambora. On that number, Bon Jovi dispensed with the flash pots and white phosphorous explosions that the band found necessary at several points in the show.

With no new Bon Jovi studio album since 2009, fans of the age-defying arena-rock outfit have had to content themselves this year with "Aftermath of the Lowdown," guitarist Richie Sambora's strikingly confessional solo set. That won't be the case for much longer, though: This spring Bon Jovi is set to release "What About Now," its first record since " The Circle ," and to support the disc the group is headed out on another of its globe-spanning...

The best hotels, packed arenas, royal rock-star treatment, all-around opulence--that's all taken for granted when touring with Bon Jovi, one of rock's most popular bands. But things are different now for Bon Jovi's lead guitarist Richie Sambora, who's on his own tour promoting his first solo album, "Stranger in This Town" on Mercury Records. "This is the bargain-basement version of a Bon Jovi tour," said Sambora, who's playing 1,000- to 2000-seat theaters in 16 cities on a monthlong U.

The lowest moment of Richie Sambora's life was the night in 2008 when he was arrested for DUI with his then-10-year-old daughter Ava in the car. Only a year after the Bon Jovi guitarist had left rehab for alcohol and pill abuse, he was pulled over in Laguna Beach after police saw him weaving on the highway in his Hummer. They booked and released him, and the Laguna Beach police described him as "quiet and cooperative and he didn't cause any problems. " The arrest capped a brutal year of personal trials: his divorce to actress Heather Locklear was finalized, his new relationship with Denise Richards faltered and his father died of lung cancer.
