On March 24, the Clippers got beat at home by 33 points. Their 11 points in the fourth quarter was the fewest points in any quarter this season. Their 79-point total was also a season low. In games elsewhere, three ex-Clippers totaled 134 points: 60 for Tom Chambers, 40 for Terry Cummings, 34 for Ricky Pierce. Mr. Sterling, some people have an undeserved reputation. The Milwaukee Bucks on Friday traded guard Ricky Pierce to the Seattle SuperSonics for guard Dale Ellis. The deal depends on each player passing his new team's physical examination, the Bucks said, adding they expect Ellis to be available for Milwaukee's game Sunday in Orlando. The 6-foot-7 Ellis, 30, traded by the Dallas Mavericks to Seattle in 1986, was averaging slightly more than 15 points for the Sonics. He was sidelined for the first 17 games of the season because of a foot injury.

At least it wasn't a 31-point loss to the Clippers, as it was Wednesday at the Sports Arena. "I'd rather lose like tonight," Coach Mike Dunleavy said. "I'd rather lose when we play a good game any day of the week than get beat up. This game had some positives for us.
