David St. Clair passed for three touchdowns and returned a kickoff for another Friday night to lead Troy High School to a come-from-behind 48-26 win over Savanna in a nonleague game in Anaheim's Glover Stadium. St. Clair completed 13 of 18 pass attempts for 186 yards and rushed for 53 more in 8 carries as the Warriors improved their record to 3-2. The Rebels are 1-4. St.

Pat Terry delivered the winning kick in a shootout and the Canyon High boys' soccer team upset Reseda on Monday in the semifinals of the Hart tournament. Terry's shot gave the Cowboys (8-3) a 5-4 edge in the shootout and a berth in today's championship game against Palmdale. Canyon and Reseda tied in regulation, 2-2. For Canyon, which failed to qualify for the Southern Section playoffs last season, the victory indicates they are much improved.

Valencia High School had gone 50 years without a league championship in football before the Tigers finally broke through by winning the Orange League in 1983. Last season, Valencia rolled to its second straight league title and an undefeated (10-0) regular season. These days, people are wondering if the Tigers will ever lose another league game. "There's the Orange League and then there's Valencia," said Bill Brown, coach at rival Brea-Olinda. "They're awesome. They have too many players.

The mother was reluctant to let her daughter go. But after listening to the pleas of her daughter's companions, she told the 13-year-old she could attend a friend's quinceanera--if she returned in an hour, after having some birthday cake. Claudia Urrutia never got that far. As friends drove her to the party, a bullet crashed through the car's rear window and lodged in her head. The teenager died in surgery--one of 32 people slain in Los Angeles County during a single week. The year was 1994.
