Roadmaster Corp. is offering to replace the plastic wheels on certain of its bicycles because the wheels could break if the tire is overinflated, the Consumer Product Safety Commission announced Monday. Involved are several thousand plastic "mag" wheels from both boys' and girls' sidewalk bikes, models 9693-KM and 7973-KM 12, the agency said. The bicycles were sold nationally by K mart stores, the agency reported.

Huffy Bicycle Corp., Roadmaster Corp. and Murray Ohio Manufacturing Co. have filed an anti-dumping action against bicycles imported from China, a trade group said. The Bicycle Manufacturers Assn. of America said the three companies filed a suit with the U.S. Commerce Department and the International Trade Commission charging that Chinese bicycles are sold in the U.S. "at less than fair value."

The U.S. International Trade Commission ruled Friday that imported Chinese bicycles are being sold below their production cost and are harming domestic manufacturers. The 6-0 vote by the ITC, a quasi-judicial independent trade panel appointed by the President, upholds a complaint made in April by Huffy Bicycle Co., Murray Ohio Manufacturing Co. and Roadmaster Corp. The complaint by the Bicycle Manufacturers Assn.
