Navigating violence-plagued Tijuana was a piece of cake. La Jolla's boutique belt proved another matter. The wife of a Mexican governor was mugged in broad daylight Saturday while strolling through the wealthy seaside enclave with her husband. Angela Stelzer de Canales, 49, suffered a broken arm when she was pulled to the sidewalk by an unidentified man who snatched her purse and ran off near the heart of La Jolla's upscale shopping district, according to San Diego police and Mexican officials.
