The going rate for a Robert Griffin III T-shirt? Evidently, $10,000. That's how much the NFL fined the Washington Redskins star for wearing unauthorized apparel during pregame warm-ups before Monday night's exhibition game against Pittsburgh at Fedex Field, according to the Washington Post. The anonymous source cited by the newspaper didn't actually specify which article of clothing got the second-year quarterback in trouble, but it's pretty clear it was his T-shirt that read “Operation Patience.” That's a reference to the Redskins' easing him back into action after the severe knee injury he suffered in a playoff loss to Seattle in January.

Robert Griffin III was ready to go -- all dressed out in full pads, brace on his knee, fully warmed up for the Washington Redskins' "Monday Night Football" exhibition game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Of course, the star quarterback had already been told there was no chance of him playing in any exhibition games as he recovers from off-season knee surgery. But that didn't stop Coach Mike Shanahan from having a little fun at RG3's expense. When backup quarterback Kirk Cousins went down with a foot injury during the first quarter, Shanahan momentarily floored Griffin by gesturing toward the field and asking if he wanted to give it a shot.

Robert Griffin III has passed a major test toward his goal of playing in Week 1 of the NFL season, getting the go-ahead from the team doctors days before the Washington Redskins open training camp. "Doctors cleared me to practice. Coach is going to ease me in," Griffin announced Monday on Twitter. The two sentences represent hurdles past and future. Even though Griffin says he has the medical clearance after recovering from torn knee ligaments, it is now up to Coach Mike Shanahan to determine how often and how vigorously Griffin practices when the Redskins open camp Thursday in Richmond, Va. The Redskins had no comment on Griffin's tweet.

Robert Griffin III, a Heisman Trophy winner at Baylor and rookie of the year with the Washington Redskins, can add husband to his collection of achievements following what some say was a lavish wedding in Colorado on Saturday. Griffin, 23, married college sweetheart Rebecca Liddicoat in her hometown of Boulder. The two, who were engaged in 2010, wore all white, with the groomsmen in black and the bridesmaids in red. We know most of this thanks to social media. The easiest way to say It......BIG DAY!

Kirk Cousins, second-year quarterback for the Washington Redskins, said he plans to take advantage of the “great opportunity” he has while Robert Griffin III recovers from reconstructive knee surgery. “I view this as a proving ground to see if I deserve to be a starter,” Cousins said, per David Elfin of 106.7 The Fan. “Every game's filmed. Even if coaches are coaching other games, they're going to be able to go back and watch tape [of preseason] and see what I can do. It may be the best thing that ever happened to me to start my career in Washington.

Remember last week, when fans discovered that Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III and his fiancee had registered online for wedding gifts at Bed, Bath and Beyond? His fans bought them almost every gift they asked for, which seemed strange considering he probably makes more money than all of those fans combined. Well, Griffin showed why his fans are so loyal: He wrote a personalized thank you note to every one of them. We know this because Keith Elgin posted his thank you note online: @ michaelsmith twitter.com/keithelgin/sta… - Keith Elgin (@keithelgin)
