Rockwell Telecommunications said Monday it has merged two operating units into a new wireless communications division to take advantage of common technologies as it pushes into the growing market for wireless communications products. The new division was formed by consolidating Rockwell's wireless systems unit, which produces silicon-based microchips, and its Microelectronics Technology Center, which develops and manufactures gallium arsenide chips.
