Fingerprints, scratches and a bullet found beneath the body of an 18-year-old woman slain in Pacific Palisades last week have linked her murder to security guard Rodney Darnell Garmanian, who was arraigned Tuesday on charges of kidnaping, rape, robbery and murder, prosecutors said. Held Without Bail The 31-year-old Reseda resident, who entered a plea of not guilty, is being held without bail. A preliminary hearing will be set July 11 by West Los Angeles Municipal Judge Rosemary Shumsky.

On its third day of deliberations, a jury in Santa Monica on Friday found former security guard Rodney Garmanian guilty of the murder and attempted rape of a Pacific Palisades teen-ager two years ago. As a packed Santa Monica courtroom looked on in surprise, a defense attorney for a former security guard accused of murdering a Pacific Palisades teen-ager two years ago told jurors Tuesday that his client was indeed the killer. "I believe that the defendant is guilty of murder and you should so find," Paul Takakjian said in an argument just before the fate of his client, Rodney Garmanian, went to the panel.

A security guard currently in jail awaiting trial in the murder of a Brentwood high school student has been plotting the assassinations of a judge, a prosecutor and a police detective involved in the case, Dist. Atty. Ira Reiner said Wednesday. Reiner said he was announcing the alleged "unprecedented" multiple-murder plot because the would-be contract killers are still at large.

A security guard was charged Monday with the murder, kidnap, rape and robbery of Teak Dyer, a popular 18-year-old Brentwood student whose body was found Wednesday in Pacific Palisades, authorities said. Rodney Darnell Garmanian, 31, of Reseda, could be eligible for the death penalty if convicted, the district attorney's office said. He was being held without bail pending arraignment today in West Los Angeles Municipal Court.
