After getting their first road victory of 2013 on Friday night, beating the Minnesota Timberwolves, 111-100, the Lakers will look to accomplish something else they haven't done in this season ... win two games in a row away from Staples Center. To do so, they'll need to defeat the Pistons (18-29) in Detroit on Sunday morning.  In an early game (10 a.m. PST), the Lakers will need to make sure they're wide awake for a difficult Pistons squad. Detroit may not have an impressive overall record, but it is 14-11 at home.

"This is obviously a lot of our favorite places to play, but I think it came at a good time for us," Wade said.

In a two-day span, the Lakers morphed from a playoff-contending team into one that can't beat a bottom-dweller. During that time, a number of things changed. Kobe Bryant went from dominant scorer to streaky shooter. Pau Gasol and Andrew Bynum went from representing the Lakers' distinguishable strengths to their underutilized strengths. Metta World Peace went from a dominant defender and a reliable scorer to, well, his usual unpredictability. The Lakers' bench went from sustaining leads to blowing leads.

Da who? Da, er, the Bulls were such a surprise to everyone, including themselves, that they were still adjusting when the trade deadline arrived with its hard choices. At 38-17 with Joakim Noah and Carlos Boozer limited to a handful of games together and two non-shooting shooting guards, they targeted Memphis' O.J. Mayo , who shoots, defends and could even back up Derrick Rose at the point. Unfortunately, they couldn't bring themselves to part with either Taj Gibson or Omer Asik and lost out. Within hours of the deadline passing, the Bulls came from 10 points behind to rock Miami's world ?
