First of all as an Angels fan, I truly appreciate Bill Dwyre's recent column about their tragically troubled season thus far. The Angels are indeed "running out of grieve space." Secondly, management's decision not to look outside the organization for much-needed pitching help reminds me of a grieving parent who insists they are all right, when quite obviously they are not. I know it's usually a letter critical of the Kings that appears near the end of the letters section each week after the numerous and fascinating letters about Manny, Kobe and the BCS, but please consider this one for its originality if nothing else. The Kings actually have an exciting and competitive young team and are definitely headed in the right direction. Ron Reeve Glendora

May I offer a very brief review of the year in sports? Baseball: Steroids. Basketball: Officiating gambling scandal. Football: Michael Vick and cheating Patriots. Hockey: Stanley Cup-winning Anaheim Ducks. Good thing I'm a hockey fan. One out of four never looked better. Ron Reeve Glendora
