Andre Ethier has started the Dodgers' opener in right field for five consecutive seasons. That streak appears over, barring injury to Yasiel Puig. That could leave Ethier in center field, or in left field, or left out, or on another team. The Dodgers say they have no plans to trade any of their four outfielders at this time, but they would not be opposed to trading one in order to replenish their prospect stock. That has left Ethier in the position of reading his name in trade rumors all winter, again.

Khloe Kardashian has reportedly filed for divorce from Lamar Odom, her husband of a little more than four years. Julia Roberts is not pregnant, and she doesn't seem to want to get pregnant ever again. Reports began percolating that the 46-year-old might be expecting a fourth child when photos of her wearing a baggy sweater while visiting her in-laws surfaced earlier this week . Those thick layers of fabric happened to mimic a baby bump and put the rumor mill on overdrive. Girl can't wear comfy clothes and get away with it in this town. The "Pretty Woman" star already has twins Hazel and Phinnaeus, 9, and son Henry, 6, with her husband Danny Moder, whom she married in 2002.

Ellen DeGeneres would like her fans to know that her marriage is just fine, thankyouverymuch , no matter what they're printing out there. Hard as it is to believe that an opera singer can make gossip headlines, Maria Callas was, in her prime, a media phenomenon whose personal life was fodder for journalists and chroniclers of high society.  A symbol of jet-set elegance, Callas was a temperamental celebrity who had a fiery love life. Her diva-hood  on and off the stage was legendary. The American-born Greek soprano would have been 90 on Monday, a fact marked by a Google tribute. Callas was born in New York in 1923 to Greek immigrant parents.

Those who suggested Texas A&M Coach Kevin Sumlin was USC's top coaching choice may have been right - but Sumlin is not coming to USC. A telling sign someone is making a run at a coach is if the targeted coach suddenly signs a multiyear contract before kickoff against, say, Missouri. It happened Saturday when Sumlin reportedly agreed on a six-year deal to stay at Texas A&M. "I am humbled and very appreciative of the commitment that Texas A&M has extended not only to me and my family, but to our football program overall," Sumlin said in a statement.

Steve Nash doesn't know when he'll come back, how he'll feel or whether he can be an effective player again. There is one certainty for the Lakers point guard: He's not contemplating retirement because of persistent back pain that has sidelined him for nearly two weeks. "No, not at all," Nash said Friday of rumors he is considering calling it a career long before his contract expires at the end of next season. "I don't know where that came from. "For me, I realize I have about 18 months left of basketball and I want the most out of this that I can possibly get and I don't know if that's going to be one game or the vast majority of what's left, but I have a long life without basketball, so I don't want to give in too soon.
