Two men were shot and killed Tuesday by Huntington Beach police after officers stopped a vehicle in Westminster and heard a gunshot, authorities said. The two officers fired multiple rounds after they heard a shot from inside the vehicle, said Lt. Russell Reinhart of the Huntington Beach Police Department. "I'm not sure if it was aimed at the officers, or who it was aimed at," he said. At least one firearm was recovered, he said. A woman was with the two men who were killed.

A woman whose body was found floating in Huntington Harbour early Thursday morning apparently fell into the water near her boat, after walking back from a bar where she had hit her head, authorities said Thursday. Police have not ruled out foul play in the death of Anna Krivenkoff, 45, who lived aboard a 27-foot sport boat. But information gathered so far indicates that she was probably injured at or near Turc's bar and then walked 175 yards to the dock before falling into the harbor, according to Huntington Beach Police Lt. Russell Reinhart.

A pastor and youth soccer coach has pleaded not guilty to charges that he molested an 8-year-old Huntington Beach girl and possessed child pornography. Christopher Raymond Olague, 39, of Westminster was arrested by Huntington Beach police in October after the mother of the girl reported the alleged molestation. Olague allegedly picked up the girl Oct. 5 for a play date at a park with one of his daughters. Instead, he took her to the parking lot of a grocery store and molested her, Huntington Beach Police Lt. Russell Reinhart said.

An 11-vote margin of victory for the fifth council seat in the new city of Aliso Viejo has prompted a recount and may postpone the first council meeting. Karl Warkomski won the seat with 1,679 votes, barely defeating Russell Reinhart's 1,668. A recount was requested on Reinhart's behalf by Scott Voigts of Lake Forest, who will be charged $409 a day. It could take several days to count the 4,373 ballots a second time.

In an effort to reduce crime, the city of Huntington Beach will soon record visitors in the downtown area. The City Council recently voted to allow police to purchase and install a surveillance system, according to a report in the Huntington Beach Independent . The action made by council members would allow the police department to reallocate $150,000 from within its budget to pay for and install these cameras. "This is a public safety action that is necessary," Councilman Joe Shaw said.

Huntington Beach is considering a new tactic in its crusade against drunk driving: public shaming on Facebook. The city's Police Department is looking into posting the names of suspected drunk drivers on Facebook, said Lt. Russell Reinhart. Councilman Devin Dwyer asked police Monday during a City Council meeting if they would be willing to post the names of people arrested for drunk driving on the city's Facebook page, because the local newspaper has stopped publishing the listings.

The first inkling that something was wrong came when managers peered through a window at the upscale Huntington Beach apartment complex and called police. The responding officers made a grim discovery when they entered the vacant unit late last week: The bodies of two teenagers sprawled on the floor. Investigators were waiting Monday for toxicology reports to be completed, but the two youths appeared to have died from drug- and alcohol-related causes, said Lt. Russell Reinhart of the Huntington Beach Police Department.
